Typography
For my final semester project I decided to introduce a mixture of hand-drawn and computerised typography into my designs, inspired by the work shown below..

Gant Powell: Hand-drawn text

EcoJot Journal Designs
I love the combination of different fonts and scale
change used in the above two prints designed for EcoJot.

Julia Rothman
The clever mixture of different fonts in Julia Rothman's work
allows the text to be viewed as a pattern not just as words.

Scenes of Childhood: Margaret Clarkson
One of the main inspirations for my watercolour drawings was from looking at the stunning work of Margaret Clarkson. The
combination of pen and watercolour in her illustrations works
perfectly. The black line adds definition to the figures but without detracting the
attention away from the delicate strokes of colour.

"Most of the ideas I have come from my childhood. I don't know
whether I was really observant but the detail and atmosphere seems to
have been etched on my memory – which is extremely useful now!"- Margaret Clarkson
